Yukari completed her formal training in dress making and tailoring in 2005. She studied pattern making, draping, garment, textile and graphic design.
In 2007 she was hired by Comme des Garçons where she worked for 3 years at Tricot Comme des Garçons, and thereafter an additional 3 years with Junya Watanabe
In 2014 she moved on to work with Sacai, working closely with Chitose Abe for 3 years. From pattern making, to development, to production, Yukari was involved at every stage of garment making in the unique hybrid method in which Sacai works, combining utilitarian concepts with high fashion elements. Yukari says it was an eye-opening growth experience for her.
Since 2017 Yukari branched out on her own with a desire to put all her knowledge and experience into practice in her own way. She worked with multiple women's and menswear brands until she realized the next step was to launch a collection under her own name, EMORI.
